Olga Lisovskaya is a native of Kiev, Ukraine. Most recently, Ms. Lisovskaya sang the role of Serpina with the Boston Vocal Arts Studio and the role of Amy in "Little Women" with Boston Opera Collaborative. In the summer of 2010 she made a successful début at the Mainely Music Festival, organized by Divas World Productions. Some of the roles in Ms. Lisovskaya's repertoire include Norina, Adele, Madame Goldentrill, Gretel, Baby Doe, Blondchen, Lucy and others. Olga has performed as a soloist with Longwood Opera, Worcester Opera, Masterworks Chorale, New England Light Opera, Opera New Hampshire, Lakes Region Opera Company, and Opera Providence among others. In the musical theater genre Olga was thrilled to make her début with the Riverside Theater Works singing and dancing the role of Consuelo from West Side Story last fall.
In addition to opera and concert, Olga enjoys performing oratorio. Recently, she performed sacred works by Bach, Handel and Mozart with “Bach and Beyond” chamber orchestra, sang as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Masterworks Chorale and with the Atlantic Union Conservatory Orchestra. She had the privilege of singing the role of Mary in the world premiere of Leonardo Ciampa’s cantata The Annunciation in 2007.
As a concert singer, Ms. Lisovskaya frequently performs solo recitals with repertoire ranging from early music to classical song repertoire, to operetta programs, Soviet film music, Ukrainian and Russian music. She is often heard performing on the concert series at the Museum of Modern Renaissance in Somerville, MA, where she will reprise the role of Serpina this coming September. In the fall of 2009 Olga premiered Leonardo Ciampa’s “Canzone Dantesche” at Dante Alighieri Society in Cambridge. She also sang on The Freisinger Chamber Orchestra concert at Old South Church.
Ms. Lisovskaya has been a regional winner in the NATS competition, finalist in the Capital Region Opera Idol Competition, winner of the Middlebury College Concerto Competition, finalist in the Connecticut Opera Guild Young Artist Scholarship Competition, and a participant in the Donizetti Music Festival in Italy.
Ms. Lisovskaya received her B.A. with honors in International Politics and Economics (music and French minor) from Middlebury College. In addition to her B.A. degree, she holds a certificate from Ecole Normale de Musique d’Alfred Cortot in Paris, France, a certificate from L'Institut des Sciences Politiques in Paris, and an excellence diploma in piano from Kiev Youth Music School.
This year Ms. Lisovskaya co-founded Boston Vocal Arts Studio and co-produced their first show. She is currently working with her co-director, Alexander Prokhorov, on the next production - I. Kalman's "The Violet of Montmartre", in which Olga will interpret the role of Violetta.
Olga’s life is not all about singing, however. She is happily married to Kristijan Zic and has a five-year-old son, Lukas. Olga is very grateful to God for all the blessings He has given her.
